BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team will have their hands full this upcoming season as the Bulls will face the defending national champions, head coach Ron Torgalski announced when he released the 2009 schedule.
The Bulls will begin the season on the road in late February as they travel to Williamsburg, VA to face William and Mary and Iona and will finish up the month at Eastern Kentucky, facing the Colonels and IPFW. March begins with a trip to Fresno, CA where the Bulls will meet the defending champion, Fresno State Bulldogs. The Bulls and Bulldogs will play two games before UB remains in Fresno for Spring Break to play at the Johnny Quick Classic. The Bulls will then play a doubleheader at St. Bonaventure before opening up Mid-American Conference Play.
UB will have road series at Northern Illinois and Central Michigan before opening up its home season on April 3 against Ball State. UB will have nine straight home games, hosting the Cardinals and Western Michigan, as well as non-conference games against Niagara, Canisius and Le Moyne. The Bulls will then go on the road for the next nine with conference series at Miami (OH) and Akron and a non-conference game at Niagara. UB will also compete in the two-day Big Four Classic.
Buffalo will begin May with a home series against Kent State before hosting St. Bonaventure for a doubleheader. UB will conclude its home schedule with a series against Bowling Green. The Bulls wrap up the season May 14-16 at Ohio.
