Oklahoma State will conclude its fall baseball practices with an inter-squad tournament later this month at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The Cowboys will play games Oct. 21-24 and Oct. 27-29 beginning at approximately 3:15 p.m. each day.

“Things have been going really well for us this fall, and this is a culmination of everything we’ve been working on,” said OSU head coach Frank Anderson. “It gives us a chance to put guys in game situations and put them under some pressure and see how they respond.”

OSU’s current roster includes 41 players, including 17 returning lettermen from last year’s ballclub that climbed to as high as No. 5 in the national polls during the regular season. The Cowboys finished the 2008 season with a 44-18 mark, their third-consecutive 40-win season, and were ranked as high as 17th in the final national polls.

Among the returners, Anderson said junior Neil Medchill has impressed the coaches at the plate and with his improvement in the outfield, while sophomore Tom Belza, a Freshman All-American and the Big 12 Conference’s leading hitter a year ago, has made a smooth transition from second base to shortstop.
