The UT Arlington baseball program held its 26th Annual Alumni Weekend last Friday and Saturday with its 16th Annual Golf Tournament held at Riverside Golf Club and its 26th Annual Alumni Game at Clay Gould Ballpark. A total of 60 alums participated in the golf tournament with 38 former Mavericks in attendance for the alumni game.

The weekend began with the golf foursome of Justin Reagan (1988-90), William Rose (1989-92), John Marek (1989-90) and Paul Paramo (1989-90) winning the golf tourney title on Friday afternoon.

The alumni game was just part of the festivities on Saturday, with batting practice, a home run derby and a post-game barbeque on the schedule.

The alumni game B.G. Wilson Most Valuable Player award went to Alan Herrman (2001-03), with other awards going to Tim McJilton (1978-81 – Bruce Marshall Most Outstanding Pitcher) and Jarrett Garza (2001-02 – Doug Myres Fastest Pitch, 87 mph).

The Clay Gould Home Run Derby champion went to current UT Arlington director of baseball operations Leo Radkowski (2007).

Many UT Arlington alums traveled far distances to attend the 26th annual alumni weekend, but nobody logged more miles than Jason Lewis (1997-98) who traveled 1,354 miles to Arlington from Coral Springs, Fla.

UT Arlington baseball would like to give special thanks to Alumni Club President Jeff Burrow (1988-91), and to co-sponsors Bruce Kelley (1978-80) and Danny Smith (1978-81).
