LSU succeeding in the classroom

My favorite SEC coach Paul Mainieri has turned the LSU program around bringing back to national prominence on the playing field. He has also brought a tougher academic standards down to the Bayou accumulating a perfect APR score for the 2007-2008 academic year. The team also improved in the classroom with a team GPA of 2.89 during the season and 2.83 for the entire academic year. The NCAA News writer Greg Johnson has a very good article on the changes in the LSU program which can be read by clicking here.
