Georgia State Announces 2009 Slate

Highlighted by home match-ups against two of their biggest rivals and coming off a school record 33-win season, the Georgia State baseball team announced its upcoming 2009 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The journey back to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament begins with a four-game home series against Cleveland State on Friday, February 20th.

Highlighting this year’s schedule will be home games with NCAA runner-up Georgia and Georgia Tech. The Panthers will also go on the road to face South Carolina, Auburn and make a trip across town to face Georgia Tech. State will also take on all of their CAA foes, including home match-ups with UNC-Wilmington and VCU, with road trips to James Madison and William & Mary. FULL STORY

Illinois State Announces 2009 Baseball Schedule

The Illinois State baseball team released its 2009 schedule Tuesday, featuring tournament games in the Metrodome and in San Antonio, Texas, as well as a contest with Notre Dame at Joliet’s Jackhammer Stadium.

The Redbirds begin 2009 with 16 of 17 games on the road, including the season-opener against Belmont (Feb. 20). Illinois State will play a four-game series with the Bruins before heading to Murray State for another four-game series (Feb. 27-March 1).

Illinois State opens the home portion of its schedule with a single game against St. Louis University, March 4 at 2 p.m., before beginning their spring trip. The Redbirds’ first home series is also their first Missouri Valley Conference series, as the Redbirds host Evansville (March 20-22). In conference play, Illinois State will also host Indiana State (March 27-29), Missouri State (April 10-12) and Creighton (May 1-3). FULL STORY

Penn Baseball Announces 2009 Schedule

The University of Pennsylvania announced its 2009 baseball schedule on Monday, and the 09 slate features 24 non-conference games as well as 20 Ivy League games.

“We have a very challenging early schedule,” W. Joseph Blood Head Coach of Baseball John Cole said. “We will make two trips south for the first time. The early-season portion of the schedule will be a great barometer for us heading into the Ivy League season.”

Penn starts off its season with a trip to Davidson and a pair of doubleheaders against the host Wildcats and the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Quakers will play each team once on consecutive days (Feb. 28-March 1). FULL STORY

BRYANT UNIVERSITY BASEBALL ANNOUNCES 2009 DIVISION I SCHEDULE, INCLUDES EIGHT HOME CONTESTS

The Bryant University Baseball team is pleased to announce its 54-game Division I schedule for the spring of 2009. The Bulldogs will kick off their inaugural Division I season with a four-game series versus Mercer College, beginning February 27 in Macon, Ga.

Road series at Virginia Tech, University of Richmond and James Madison University will lead up to the March 18 Division I home opener at the Bryant Baseball Complex against ACC opponent Boston College.

The Bulldogs will also take to the road for series against Le Moyne, Florida Atlantic and future Northeast Conference foes Monmouth University and Long Island University. FULL STORY

Houston announces 2009 Schedule

Head Coach Rayner Noble and the University of Houston has released a 54 game schedule that will include Non Conference slate against Kansas State, Rice, Texas San Antonio, and Pacific. They will also take part in the Houston College Classic which will take part in Houston on February 27-29th.

Houston will open conference play at home with UAB and will close out the conference at UCF.
