South Carolina Baseball Fall Practice Begins at New Stadium

East Carolina Baseball Starts Fall Practice

ECU Returns 22 Letterwinners From 2008 NCAA Regional Final Squad

Following its ninth NCAA Regional appearance in the last 10 years, the 2009 East Carolina baseball squad opened fall practice Friday afternoon at Clark-LeClair Stadium under the direction of fourth-year Head Coach Billy Godwin.

The Pirates, who finished with a 42-21 overall record, welcomed back 22 letterwinners including All-American Seth Maness; All Conference USA performer Stephen Batts; C-USA All-Freshman Team selection Dustin Harrington and Conway Regional All-Tournament performer Brandon Henderson. FULL STORY

Hoover Added to Penn State Baseball Coaching Staff

Will Hoover will join the Penn State baseball coaching staff, head coach Robbie Wine announced today. Wine also announced Seb Saraceno, formerly a volunteer assistant coach, will handle baseball operations and administrative duties.

Hoover managed the Cedar Cliff High School (Camp Hill, Pa.) varsity baseball team. During his tenure, the Colts amassed 149 victories and reached post-season play 149 times. He was honored with the Mid-Penn Conference Baseball Coach of the Year award in 2005 when he led Cedar Cliff to a conference championship. Hoover graduated 45 academic all-conference players and 96 percent of his players went on to college. FULL STORY
