Area Code Baseball got under way yesterday at Blair Field in Long Beach State. In the morning all the players were put through a Player Evaluation / SPARQ Testing that was wrap up by 3:00.

Rangers 5- White Sox 4

They First game started at 4pm pitting the Texas Rangers Area Code team against the Chicago White Sox Area Code Team. The Rangers defeated the White Sox 5-4 behind some clutch hitting and Josh Turley came into to pitched the final two innings and close the door on the White Sox. Full Story

Reds 1 Nationals 0

In the 2nd game of the day, it was the Cincinnati Reds Area Code Team Vs. the Washington Nationals Area Code Team.

This was a Pitchers duel from the onset of the game as both teams pitching staff battled through 6 1/2 innings and the game was all knotted up at 0. Then in the bottom of the 7th inning Bryce Harper line a shot off the wall for a stand up triple and scored the only run of the game on a ground out.
