The McKinney Marshals’ incredible season was highlighted by the selection of Myrio Richard, Michael Bolsinger and Jimmy Nelson for Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively. Stan Phelps earned Coach of the Year Honor, after leading the East Texas Pumpjacks to a 22-26 record in their inaugural season.
Richard had an incredible year by all standards, batting .283 and leading the league with 36 RBI, three triples, 39 runs, 21 stolen bases and a .507 slugging percentage. The speedster also demonstrated his power, tying teammate Justin Bloxom with six home runs. Bolsinger was 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA in seven starts, while limiting opposing batters to a meager .137 batting average. He also struck out 50 hitters in 42 innings to lead the Marshals pitching staff. Nelson instantly became of the most feared pitchers in the league, as he led the TCL with 66 strikeouts and limited opposing hitters to a .188 average.
