Jake Smith (Alabama) was 3-3 with a double and a grand slam and drove in 6 runs as the Marshals (19-11) routed Coppell (13-18) on Tuesday night 11-2 in a game that only lasted five innings due to lightening.

Smith’s grand slam came in the first inning and capped a five-run inning for the Marshals. Myrio Richard (Prairie View A&M) was 3-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBI as the Marshals scored double-digit runs for the third straight game.

Hunter Hill (Texas) earned his first win of the season pitching one and one-third innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit while walking one and striking out two. Starter Michael Bolsinger (Arkansas) pitched well early, but struggled in the fourth and left the game after walking the bases loaded. Hill allowed a hit to Jaron Shepard that scored the only two runs for Coppell.

The Marshals will host Coppell again on Wednesday as it will be $1 Tickets and $1 Hot Dogs Night at The Gabe. Game time is 7:05 pm.
