Canada’s entry in the World University Games defeated the Lethbridge Bulls of the Western Major Baseball League 12-1 Wednesday night. RF Ken Fuglerud (Saint Mary’s) hit a two-run home run, went 2-3 with 3 RBI. 1B Marshall MacDonald (Dayton) also hit a two-run home run, went 2-4 with 4 runs scored. LF Grant Kveder (Gonzaga) went 3-5 with an RBI, and DH Jeff Vickers (Lamar) went 3-6 with 2 RBI.
Team Canada again used five pitchers. Dustin Northcott (Indian Hills CC) had the best numbers; two innings pitched, no hits, two walks, one strikeout. Scott Webster (British Columbia) started and gave up the only run, but he also struck out four. Adam Reynolds (Guelph) went two innings, allowed one hit, struck out two.

Team will travel to the Vancouver area to play the Burnaby Bulldogs of the Pacific International League on Friday, and the independent Burnaby Collegiate Bulldogs on Saturday. Mark Hardy (British Columbia) is scheduled to start Friday night.
