Donnie Watson of Stephen F. Austin will not be returning to the Stephen F. Austin program after a 25-29 overall record and a Southland Conference mark of 12-17. Watson led the Lumberjacks to a 71-98 record over the last three seasons after the program was reinstated after being dropped in 1995. The CBB talked with Donnie Watson about the 2008 season earlier this year. (Click here to read it). The CBB hopes Donnie catches on with another solid program and gets a second chance as three years in charge of a new program at a schools is not enough time at all. Johnny Cardenas will take over the program in an interim basis as the school searches for a new head coach.
