StanfordGAME ONE – #1 STANFORD VS. #4 UC-DAVIS
Top ranked Stanford used a five run ninth inning to stave off elimination in the Palo Alto Regional. The Cardinal found themselves down 4-3 heading into the top of the ninth but a five run inning propelled the Cardinal into the championship game against 2-seed Pepperdine.

GAME TWO – #1 STANFORD VS. #2 PEPPERDINE
The Cardinal continued their momentum from the elimination game and scored 11 runs in the first four innings to bury the Pepperdine Waves and win their second consecutive elimination game. Stanford jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the first inning and then added one more in the bottom of the second and six in the bottom of the fourth to go up 11-0. With the victory the Cardinal and Waves will meet on Monday for the right to advance to the Super Regionals.

Stanford pitcher Danny Sandbrink went the distance for the Cardinal giving up just one run on six hits, striking out six and walking just one. Matt Bywater took the loss for the Waves giving up seven runs on nine hits, three of which were home runs, in 3.2 innings of work.

Monday’s championship game is set for 1:00 p.m. PDT.
