Oklahoma StateGAME ONE – #2 WICHITA STATE VS. #3 TCU
The TCU Horned Frogs scored one run in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th innings but it wasn’t enough as the Wichita State Shockers scored three runs in the 3rd, three runs in the 5th and two runs in the eighth to take an 8-5 opening round win.

Rob Musgrave picked up the win for the Shockers pitching a complete game for the win. Tyler Lockwood took the loss for the Horned Frogs surrenduring all eight Shocker runs in seven innings of work.

With the win the Shockers advance to the winners’ bracket to face top seed and host Oklahoma State. The 3-seed Horned Frogs will take on 4-seed Western Kentucky in an elimination game.

GAME TWO – #1 OKLAHOMA STATE VS. #4 WESTERN KENTUCKY
Regional host Oklahoma State scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the first inning and never relenquished the lead en route to a 5-3 victory over Sun Belt champion Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers scored all three of their runs in the final three innings finally getting on the board in the top of the seventh with one run and then scoring two runs in the top of the ninth to make the game interesting.

Tyler Lyons picked up the win for the Cowboys going 8.2 innings giving up all three Hilltopper runs. Matt Ridings takes the loss for the Hilltoppers going 5.2 innings and was responsible for all five OSU runs.

The Hilltoppers will now face 3-seed TCU from the Mountain West in the regional’s first elimination game at 1:00 p.m. CDT. The top seed Oklahoma State will face 2-seed Wichita State at 7:00 p.m. CDT.

This will be the first meeting between TCU and Western Kentucky this season. Oklahoma State and Wichita State met once during the regular season in Stillwater with the Cowboys winning 5-3.
