Clemson 10 Ga Tech 4

Clemson hit three home runs, including a seventh-inning grand slam by Ben Paulsen, to defeat #24 Georgia Tech 10-4 on Saturday in the ACC Tournament at The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Tigers, who were 1-2 in the ACC Tournament, improved to 31-27-1, while the Yellow Jackets, who were also 1-2 in the ACC Tourney, fell to 39-19.

Tiger reliever Ryan Hinson (3-5) earned the win, as he allowed one run with three strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched. Casey Harman also pitched 2.0 scoreless and hitless innings out of the bullpen. Zach Von Tersch (7-5), the second of six Georgia Tech pitchers, suffered the loss, as he allowed four runs (three earned) and two hits in 1.1 innings pitched.

Miami FL 5 NC State 2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Jemile Weeks hit a three-run homer in the third inning and Enrique Garcia threw seven scoreless innings to lead top-seeded Miami into the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship title game, defeating North Carolina State 5-2 on Saturday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The Hurricanes (46-8) will play Virginia, which improved to 38-19 prior to last night’s game against Wake Forest, at 1 p.m. Sunday on Fox Sports Net South. Miami swept the regular-season series from the Cavaliers 3-0 at home and have a four-game winning streak against Virginia.

Wake Forest 7 Virginia 4

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wake Forest ended the 2008 season on a high note, picking up a 7-4 defeat of Virginia Saturday evening at the ACC Baseball Championship held at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The seventh-seeded Demon Deacons finish the year 25-31 overall, including a 13-16 mark during the ACC regular season. The sixth-seeded Cavaliers, who will play in Sunday’s ACC title game, fall to 38-20 on the year.
