Legendary UCF head coach Jay Bergman has been fired by the university according to the Orlando Sentinel and Rivals.com articles posted in the past day. He was let go with three weeks left in the season and did not accompany the squad to New Orleans for its weekend set against national power Tulane. UCF Associate AD Joe Hornstein states that he was let go because of personnel issue but is officially fired by the university. Bergman finishes his career with a 994-594-3 record in 26 seasons at UCF with an overall record of 1210-707-3 in 36 seasons which includes five years at the University of Florida.
