Was this the game that turns Texas season around? Could this jump start them to the Tournament?? The verdict is still out them but, this was a game in the right direction for Texas. Everything Texas did went their way in this non-conference game against Texas State. Texas State came into the game batting .336 as a team but, Kenn was entertaining other ideas on the out come of this game. Kasparek threw 113 pitches with 9 strike outs 12 ground ball outs and that would just leave 6 fly balls for the outfield. The tempo of the game started in the first inning when SS David Hernandez went deep into the hole to take away a hit threw out the lead off batter at first. After that Kenn was able to throw any pitch where he wanted it.

Kenn has been struggling all season to get his from back after having surgery back in summer of ’06 on his elbow. He was leaving pitches up and was having problems with the strike zone. It was great to see him get his form back before his Tommy John Surgery. The pitching staff needs a pitcher with his experience on the mound and this could be what the Dr. order.
