The College Baseball Blog and StatStud.com have teamed up this season to bring a weekly award for the top players in the last week. We will select one pitcher and hitter every week throughout the regular season. This week Anthony Shawler of Old Dominion is our selection for Pitcher of the Week while Stephen Hunt of South Florida grabs the Player of the Week award.

Junior pitcher Anthony Shawler returned to his 2007 All-American form on Friday evening as he pitched a two hitter against Northeastern in a 10-0 Monarch victory. The biggest accomplishment on Friday night was Shawler striking out 18 batters while only walking one batter and hitting another on the night. He puts his record at 5-2 on the year with a 4.36 ERA.

Freshman DH/Pitcher Stephen Hunt of South Florida had a tremendous week at the plate where he went 12-21 with eight extra base hits. He missed barely missed hitting for the cycle twice on the weekend by being a homer short on Saturday and a double short on Sunday. He had 13 RBI last week while slugging 1.238.
