TUCSON, Ariz. – The Ouachita Baptist baseball team fell three spots to No. 24 in the latest NCAA Division II College Baseball Newspaper poll released Monday.

The Tigers (37-10 overall, 8-6 in the Gulf South Conference West Division) were 2-3 this past week with a doubleheader non-conference split in Florence, Ala., against North Alabama. The week concluded by Ouachita Baptist dropping two of three on the road to Arkansas Tech.

Mount Olive (40-4) remains in the top spot with 480 points, followed by Sonoma State (34-5) and Southern Arkansas (36-4) tied for the second spot with 456 points. Emporia State (36-3) and Tampa (30-7-1) round out the top five.

Ouachita Baptist is one of five Gulf South Conference schools in the poll. Besides Southern Arkansas, which visits Rab Rodgers Field this weekend for a three-game series, Delta State is sixth, while Valdosta State and West Alabama are 18th and 19th, respectively. Montevallo was receiving votes.

The Tigers, with a five-day break, look to rebound with a critical three-game Gulf South Conference West Division series at Rab Rodgers Field starting 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19 against Southern Arkansas.
