The College Baseball Blog and StatStud.com have teamed up this season to bring a weekly award for the top players in the last week. We will select one pitcher and hitter every week throughout the regular season. This week Aaron Crow of the University of Missouri is our selection for Pitcher of the Week while Collin Cowgill of Kentucky grabs the Player of the Week award.
Aaron Crow pitched on Friday evening against Oklahoma State where he pitched a complete game shutout against the Cowboys while allowing eight hits and striking out seven batters. This was his third complete game shutout on the season as he extended his current shutout streak to 52 innings and the last run he left up was in his second start of the season against Cal. This year he is 7-0 with a 0.69 ERA.
Collin Cowgill had another awesome week as he continues to hammer SEC pitching. He went 9-13 with nine runs, four homers, seven RBI, six walks to one strikeout, and one stolen base. He went to the plate 20 times last week and only recorded four outs. On the year, Cowgill is hitting .407 with 12 homers and 38 RBI.
