IRVING, Texas — Ben Booker (Baylor) and Aaron Crow (Missouri) have been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games of March 31-April 6 in voting by a media panel. Crow is recognized for the second time in his career while it is the first weekly accolade for Booker.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ben Booker, Baylor, OF, Jr., Lorena, Texas/Lorena
On the week, Booker compiled a .625 (10-for-16) batting average along with 11 RBI and three home runs. He also recorded 22 total bases and six runs, while producing a 1.375 slugging percentage.

He came off the bench in two midweek games and went 3-for-5 with two homers and six RBI in both contests. Booker posted Baylor’s first pinch-hit home run since May 22, 2002 at TCU on Tuesday. Against UT-Arlington he was 2-for-3 with a two-run pinch-hit double and a three-run homer.

Booker returned to the starting lineup in the Kansas series and tallied a 7-for-11 performance to lead the Bears in the series sweep. He was 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in the series opener. On Saturday, Booker went 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and career-high three runs. He followed that with a 2-for-4 showing in the series finale in addition to recording a double, a homer and three RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Aaron Crow, Missouri, RHP, Jr., Wakarusa, Kan./Washburn Rural
Crow recorded his third complete game shutout of the season while extending his scoreless innings streak to 42.2 in No. 4 Missouri’s win over Oklahoma State on Friday. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter to improve to 7-0 on the year. He has not allowed a run in Big 12 play this year and has only given up four runs in 52.0 innings pitched this season, holding a .069 ERA. His last run allowed came in his second start of the year, against California on Feb. 29. He has recorded a victory in each of his seven starts this season.
