ATLANTA, Ga. — Chris Hicks earned his 7th save of the season to help lead Georgia Tech (24-5) to a 5-4 victory over East Tennessee State (6-21). The Yellow Jackets scored the first 5 runs of the game before the Buccaneers answered with 4 runs of their own, including 3 solo home runs. Luke Murton hit a two-run double to start the Yellow Jackets scoring, but 3 ETSU errors on a single play allowed Tech to score what turned out to be the deciding run.
Georgia Tech remains undefeated in mid-week games this season, but has a tough stretch of games coming up. They first head to Cary, NC, for a 3-game series against the North Carolina Tar Heels before returning home for a mid-week game against the Georgia Bulldogs and a weekend series against the Miami Hurricanes. East Tennessee State returns to the Atlanta area this weekend to take on the Kennesaw State Owls.
