ATLANTA, Ga. — Starting pitcher Eddie Burns gave up only 4 hits over 7 innings and freshman Jeff Rowland went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 runs to lead Georgia Tech to a 4-2 victory over the Duke Blue Devils in the second game of a 3-game weekend series.
Shortstop Derek Dietrich continued his hot streak, going 2-for-4 today. Jay Dantzler also added 2 hits for the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech’s pitching continued to dominate, preventing Duke from getting any extra-base hits.
Game 3 of the series between the Yellow Jackets and the Blue Devils is at 1pm Sunday. Sophomore RHP Zach Von Tersch (2-0, 1.88) takes the mound for the Jackets; Duke counters with freshman RHP Grant Monroe (3-1, 3.00).
