South Carolina heads to College of Charleston

South Carolina will head to the College of Charleston for mid-week game against the Cougars. The Gamecocks are coming off a weekend series with Vanderbilt which saw them lose two out of three games to the Commodores to drop their record to 11-5 on the year. South Carolina is led by Reese Havens and Justin Smoak. Havens leads the team in with a .382 average while Smoak has a .355 with four homers on the season. Smoak is expected to be one of the top picks in the 2008 MLB Draft this June. They will send senior Nick Godwin to the mound where he is 1-2 with a 4.40 ERA. College of Charleston is coming off a four game series split with Indiana State. They are led by Gabe Marchant who is hitting .452 with eight homers and 31 RBI. The Cougars will send freshman Casey Lucchese to the mound where he has a 2-0 record with a 6.75 ERA.
