The BC Eagles grabbed Game 2 of their series with Clemson as they won 7-6 surviving a late rally from the Clemson Tigers. Dan Houston had a solid start on Saturday as he went 6 innings allowing six hits and three runs (two earned) but received a no decision as he left with the Eagles down 3-2. The BC offense was held in check by D.J. Mitchell who went seven and a third innings while giving up three runs (two earned). The Eagles offense came alive in the eighth and ninth inning as they scored two runs in the eighth and then three runs off of Matt Vaughn for some insurance runs to extend the lead to 7-3. The inning was kept alive by a huge Wilson Boyd error on a deep flyball from Eric Campbell which led to all the runs in the ninth being unearned. Clemson was able to come up with three runs in the bottom of the ninth with the winning run up to bat with 2 outs but Chris Kowalski was able to slam the door shut but striking out Ben Paulsen to end the game. Tony Sanchez, Barry Butera, Eric Campbell, and Garrett Smith all had two hits in the game with Sanchez hitting a solo homer in the fourth inning. The Tigers offense was led by Wilson Boyd who went 2-5 with 3 RBI. Jeff Schaus had three hits and Mike Freeman was able to grab two hits.

Pat Dean (1-1) of Boston College picked up his first collegiate victory by pitching two innings of relief while Chris Kowalski picked up his first save of the year. Clemson reliever Casey Harman picks up the loss to drop his record to 0-1 on the year.
