TAMPA, Fla. – A single by sophomore Victor Pina in the bottom of the 12th gave the University of South Florida baseball team a 6-5 victory over the Indiana State Sycamores Saturday night at Red McEwen Field.
“For us to win there must be a hero every night,” said head coach Prado. “Tonight it was Victor Pina.”
The heroics started earlier in the game when in the bottom of the ninth and the bases loaded, junior Chris Rey crushed a 3-2 fastball over the left field wall, tying the game at five, and sending the game into extra innings.
