David Price continued his strong season as he pitched 8.2 innings of one run baseball while striking out 15 LSU hitters as he led the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 4-1 victory over LSU to clinch the SEC Regular Season Title which is the first in the school’s history. Price broke his own school record for strikeouts in a season in the third inning with his 155th of the season and ended the game with 164. His record goes to 10-0 on the season as he continues to prepare for the upcoming SEC and NCAA Tournaments. Charlie Furbush took the loss for the Tigers as he only gave up one earned run in seven innings his record drops to 3-9.

The College Baseball Blog had the chance to watch tonight’s game through a live webcast and was impressed with the control of David Price. He seemed to be in total control throughout the game and was basically unhittable. Charlie Furbush has really dropped off this season after dominating the Cape Cod League last summer. The Blog took in one of his starts last year against Cotuit and he had one of the better curveballs in the league and could really locate his fastball. The Blog doesn’t know what happened to him this season which is his first in Division 1.
