Florida State 8 Duke 5

The Florida State Seminoles scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back as they took the rubber game with the Blue Devils 8-5. Tony Thomas Jr. went 4 for 5 with two homers and four RBI’s. Ryan Strauss continued his perfect start to his collegiate career as he picked up his seventh win of the season with six innings of work. FSU will be back in action on Tuesday when they head to Jacksonville for a single game with the Florida Gators before heading back into ACC play next weekend with a visit to NC State. Duke will head to Davidson on Tuesday before heading to Virginia for a weekend set.

Wake Forest 6 North Carolina 0

Eric Nielsen of Wake Forest shut down the North Carolina Tar Heel offense by allowing only six hits in his 8.1 innings of work. Willy Fox of Wake Forest led the offense by going 4-5 with an RBI and a two runs scored. Dustin Ackley got a single in the first inning to extend his hit streak to 22 straight games. Luke Putkonen got his first career loss today to drop his overall record to 5-1 while Nielsen goes to 3-3. UNC will host UNC Wilmington on Tuesday before heading to Boston College for a Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday series while Wake Forest will head to Elon on Tuesday before going to Maryland over the weekend.

Virginia 8 Virginia Tech 5

Sean Doolittle pitched 6.2 innings while allowing two unearned runs as the Virginia Cavaliers completed a sweep over the Virginia Tech Hokies 8-5. Tim Henry led the offensive attack by going 2-4 with 2 RBI in the win. Bryan Thomas went 2-5 with 2 RBIs in the losing effort for the Hokies. Virginia will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to VMI before hosting Duke while Virginia Tech will play VMI on Wednesday before hosting Clemson.

Miami 7 Clemson 6

The Miami Hurricanes grabbed the rubber game of their series with the Clemson Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Hurricanes received 3.2 innings of one run relief from Danny Gil and grabbed a run off of Daniel Moskos in the eighth inning which proved to be the winning run. The Hurricanes will be back in action on Wednesday when they play FIU while Clemson travels to Georgia on Tuesday.

Georgia Tech 4 Maryland 2

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets completed the sweep over the Maryland Terps with a 4-2 victory. This series sweep was a devastating loss for the Terrapins as this was their chance to prove their mettle against a solid ACC team but could not come through in the clutch. On Sunday, Matt Wieters and Michael Fisher each hit homers to lead the Yellow Jacket offense. GT will host Wofford on Tuesday before heading to Miami for a weekend set. Maryland will host UMBC on Tuesday and head to Towson on Wednesday before hosting Wake Forest next weekend.
