Miami 1
The UNC Tar Heels picked up another win on Saturday by a score of 3-1 to bring their record to 14-1 on the season. Freshman Alex White pitched 7.2 innings while allowing only an unearned run to pick up his third victory of the season. Alex White also scattered six walks which he needs to tone down before teams start taking advantage of those base runners. Reid Fronk and Dustin Ackley both picked up two hits and an RBI in the game to lead the Tar Heels offense. Jemile Weeks of Miami also picked up two hits in the loss. The teams will be back in action on Sunday with a noon start.
Virginia 13
Wake Forest 5
David Adams went 5-6 on the afternoon to lead the Cavaliers to a 13-5 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Jacob Thompson of UVA picked up the victory by lasting 5.1 innings and giving up 5 runs. Alex Smith and Jake Rule pitched 3.2 shutout innings to close out the victory. Patrick Wingfield and Brandon Guyer each picked up three hits in the victory. Wake Forest was led on offense by Austin Jones who hit a three run homer in the fifth inning. The teams will play the rubber match on Sunday at 1 pm.
Maryland 4
NC State 2
The Maryland Terrapins continue their strong start to the season with a 4-2 victory over NC State on Saturday. The Terps were led on offense by Mike Murphy and Jon Greenwich each hit solo home runs to lead the Terps to the victory. Ryan Moorer pitched 5.2 innings while only giving up 1 run but picked up the no decision. Eric Surkamp was equally as good by pitching seven innings giving up two runs and getting the no-decision also. The Terps were able to break a 2-2 tie in the top of the ninth on Greenwich’s homer and tacked on an insurance run before turning the ball over to Brett Cecil. He pitched a perfect inning to pick up his fifth of the season. The teams will be back in action on Sunday at 1:30 pm.
Georgia Tech 19
Virginia Tech 4
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets followed yesterday’s loss with a 19-4 drubbing of the Virginia Tech Hokies. Matt Wieters and Luke Murton hit home runs in the eight run sixth inning to lead the GT offense to victory. Jared Hyatt picked up his second win of the season by going 5.0 innings in relief.

The Boston College Eagles picked up their second straight victory over the Duke Blue Devils to star the conference 2-0. Punter/Right Fielder Johnny Ayers went 4-4 with a walk in the lead off role with four runs scored to lead the Eagles to the victory. Dan Houston pitched 5.1 innings of solid relief to pick up his first victory of the season. Andrew Wolcott picked up his first loss of the season by lasting only 1.1 innings and giving up five runs on eight hits.

The Florida State Seminoles picked up their 19th straight victory to open the season with a 8-2 decision over Indiana. Jason Stidham and Ruari O’Connor both picked up two hits to lead the Seminole offense. Micheal Hyde was struck in the head with a first inning comebacker but ended up going five innings to pick up the win.
Clemson 8

Andy D’Alessio and Marquez Smith both hit two run homers to lead the Clemson Tigers to the 8-2 victory over Memphis. Stephen Clyne picked up the victory by going the last 3.1 innings while only giving up one hit and no runs.
