The North Carolina Tar Heels invaded Brooks Field on Wednesday night for a meeting with UNC-Wilmington. The Tar Heels were able to sneak out a 6-5 victory. The Tar Heels were led by a strong pitching performance from Junior pitcher Mike Facchinei who carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He only let up one hit and one walk while giving up two runs in his six innings of work. The Tar Heel offense was led by Seth Williams who hit a key two run homer in the fourth inning. The game was 6-2 heading into the ninth inning but veteran closer Andrew Carnigan got roughed up by giving up three runs in the bottom of the ninth to make it interesting. UNC-Wilmington will be back in action this weekend in Myrtle Beach for the Baseball at the Beach Tourney. The Tar Heels will welcome the Seawolves of Stony Brook to Boshamer Stadium for a 3 game set.
