San Diego took Game three of their series with the Texas Longhorns by a score of 4-1. Jordan Abruzzo and Shane Buschini both hit two run homers to lead the Toreros offense to the victory. Matt Couch got his first win on the young season by pitching 6.0 innings of one run baseball. Ricardo Pecina pitched two innings of hitless relief before handing the ball over to AJ Griffin who pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his second career save. James Russell picked up the loss for the Longhorns by going 7.0 innings and allowing Jordan Abruzzo’s two run homer. San Diego is back in action on Friday with a three game set with USC. Texas heads out to the west coast to take on Long Beach State next weekend but has a mid-week game against Texas-Arlington.
