Brian Matusz delivered a clutch performance as he led his Toreros to a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Texas Longhorns. He pitched 5.2 innings only allowing 1 run and striking out eight batters. Matt Couch got the last two outs in the ninth to record his first save of the season. Justin Snyder led the offensive charge with a 3-5 performance including a home run. Texas starter Randy Boone only lasted 4.1 innings and gave up 5 runs (3 earned) and surrendered eight hits. Travis Tucker went 3-4 for the Longhorns in the losing effort. Both teams will face off again on Saturday.
